Jordan Open Source Association Deplores Blocking of Websites in Jordan

 

Jordan Open Source Association strongly regrets denying access to some Jordan news websites by a Jordanian Internet Service Provider.

Jordan Open Source Association said that procedures taken by a local ISP to deny access to local news websites are against Internet Freedom. The association, in a statement released today, reaffirms the principles of open and accessible web as well of net neutrality, necessary for Jordan's citizens, private sectors and its institutional reform efforts.

"Internet is a public good and a free Internet is a right to all citizens", stressed the statement.

Media reported that "customers of Orange ISP were not able to access news sites due to block taken in action resulting in several protests from Journalists".
